Q: We like what you are doing, but why don’t you have a lot more products available?

A: Great question! We’re a new company and we are working as quickly as possible to release as many high-quality products as fast as we can. We are grateful for everyone’s patience, support, and encouragement along the way. Prayers are much appreciated as well!

Q: Why did you choose the name Dunamouse for the children’s division of your company? 

A: Dunamouse is a fun, child-friendly play on the word “dunamis.” “Dunamis” is the Greek word that conveys the power, ability, might, and strength that God gives us. It is used well over a hundred times in the New Testament alone. The English language derived words like “dynamite” and “dynamic” from “dunamis.”  (Pronounced: DOO-nuh-mis or in our case DOO-nuh-mouse)

Q: What does your logo stand for?

A: Our logo is a little mouse in medieval armor victoriously holding the sword of the Lord and the word of God on a hill in front of the cross.

Q: Why a mouse?

A: They are timid, tiny, child-friendly creatures, but they can be strong and courageous with dunamis from God.

Q: Is a sword a good choice for a children’s publishing logo?

A: The Sword of the Lord and the Word of God is absolutely the best choice for foundational reading material for children. There is a real enemy and a real battle going on for the hearts and minds of our children. Any adult who does not know that needs to read the Bible (and our books, too). Anyone offended by this reality will likely not enjoy our materials anyway.

Q: Isn’t that approach a bit direct for a new company?

A: Yep. 

Q: Can you explain why?

A: Our founder was a teacher, principal, and military officer. He believes in old-fashioned tough love, and he follows the Army slogan that the hard right choice is always better than the easy wrong one. He’s also fun and loveable and is hard to stay mad at.
